P0750

P0750 is the electrical circuit fault for Shift Solenoid A — open, shorted, or out-of-range resistance. Shift Solenoid A on most domestic 4-speed and 5-speed transmissions handles the 1-2 or 2-3 shift hydraulics; on 6-speeds the naming convention varies by OEM, so verify against the FSM before ordering parts. Fluid check first as always; then the same external diagnostic flow as P0740: unplug the case connector, inspect for corrosion, check pin alignment, dielectric grease, clear code, road test. If it returns, ohm out the solenoid from the case connector — most shift solenoids spec 10-40 ohms; on/off solenoids tend to land 20-30 ohms, PWM (linear) solenoids land 5-15 ohms. Out of spec = solenoid pack replacement on modern integrated assemblies (you rarely replace a single solenoid because they live on a shared body). One important caveat: a stuck-open or stuck-closed solenoid passes the electrical check but fails the performance check — P0750 is the wiring code, P0751 is the 'it's connected but not doing its job' code, so a clean P0750 with no P0751 is almost always external (harness/connector) rather than internal.
