U0121 indicates the ABS/EBCM (Electronic Brake Control Module) has stopped communicating on the CAN bus, which is high-priority because loss of ABS communication also disables stability control, traction control, and on many vehicles the electric parking brake. Cheapest-first ladder: pull all wheel-speed sensor codes first, because a single shorted WSS can pull the entire ABS module power rail down and mimic a dead module. Then check the ABS module's dedicated maxi-fuse (often 40-60A in the underhood fuse box labeled ABS or EBCM) and confirm battery voltage at the module's heavy-gauge power feed. Verify CAN-H/CAN-L at the ABS connector pins (consult the wiring diagram, often pins 12 and 13 on Bosch 8.x units) showing 2.5V each at idle, and measure 60 ohms across them with key off and battery disconnected to confirm the ABS module isn't shorting the bus.
