P0332 means the Knock Sensor 2 circuit on Bank 2 is reading low — the signal voltage from the bank-2 piezo crystal is pinned below the PCM's minimum threshold (typically under 0.1 V AC baseline or completely absent). This is a circuit-low code: open signal wire, dead crystal, lost ground reference, or shorted-to-ground harness. Cheapest-first ladder: scan live data and look at the bank-2 knock counter (should accumulate 50 to 200 counts under hard acceleration on a healthy system; pinned at 0 means no signal reaching the PCM). Backprobe the bank-2 knock sensor signal wire at the PCM connector with a DMM set to AC volts — should read 0.5 to 1.5 V AC at idle with peaks during throttle blips. A reading under 0.05 V AC means the signal is dead at the PCM. Resistance-check the sensor itself: most knock sensors read 500 kohm to 5 megohm across terminals; below 100 kohm or fully open means the crystal is bad. Continuity-check the signal wire from sensor connector to PCM connector — should be under 1 ohm. Verify the sensor ground (typically a dedicated shielded ground at the PCM) has continuity to PCM ground under 0.1 ohm. Expensive misdiagnosis caveat: on GM LSx V8s, P0332 (bank 2 = passenger side on most longitudinal applications) requires intake manifold removal to access the sensor itself, but the harness pigtail at the under-intake connector is the failure point 80% of the time — pop the intake far enough to inspect and reseat the connector before ordering a new sensor that costs $40-$80 but takes $400 in labor to replace.

Vehicle-specific patterns: 1999-2013 GM LSx V8 5.3/6.0/6.2L (Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Yukon, Escalade, Camaro, Corvette) is the most common P0332 vehicle — bank 2 knock sensor sits in the lifter valley under the intake plenum and the harness pigtail corrodes from coolant weep past the intake gaskets; GM-style pigtail repair kit fixes most cases. 2004-2010 Ford 4.6/5.4L Triton (F-150, Expedition, Mustang GT) throws P0332 from the bank-2 (passenger side) rear-of-head sensor wiring being baked by exhaust heat. 2007-2015 Toyota 2GR-FE 3.5L V6 (Camry V6, Avalon, RAV4 V6, Sienna, Lexus ES350/RX350) throws P0332 from valley-buried sensor failure requiring intake plenum removal (6-8 hours labor). 2005-2012 Nissan VQ35DE (350Z, Altima, Maxima, Murano) throws P0332 from corroded bank-2 sensor connector at the intake valley.
